ISO 9001 Certification

ISO 9001 quality management,independently certified.

Every organisation says it delivers quality. ISO 9001 certification is how you prove it. ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management, and its sixth edition, ISO 9001:2026, was published on 16 September 2026. Certification is independent confirmation that quality is built into how your organisation operates, from the way you understand customer needs to the way you fix what goes wrong. Certiva Global, based in Hyderabad, provides independent ISO 9001 certification and surveillance audits, operating in compliance with ISO/IEC 17021-1.

What it proves

Proof that quality is built into how you operate.

Quality Management System

ISO 9001 sets out the requirements for a Quality Management System, known as a QMS: the structure through which an organisation plans, delivers and continually improves its products and services. It is the most widely adopted management system standard in the world, which is exactly why buyers trust it. A certificate tells a customer, before a single conversation, that your organisation works to a recognised discipline.

Certification proves three things. That you understand what your customers and the law require of you, and plan your work to meet it. That your processes are defined, controlled and consistent, so quality does not depend on which person happens to be on shift. And that you measure results, act on problems at their root, and improve over time. For procurement teams, government tenders and enterprise clients, an ISO 9001 certificate is often the entry ticket rather than a nice extra.

The 2026 edition

What is new in ISO 9001:2026

ISO 9001:2026, sixth edition

ISO 9001:2026 is an evolution of the 2015 edition, not a rewrite. It keeps the same harmonised structure shared with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001, so the standards still integrate cleanly. The changes sharpen what was already there: a stronger expectation that top management actively leads quality rather than simply approving a policy, explicit attention to quality culture and ethical behaviour, and the climate change consideration introduced by the 2024 amendment now built into the standard itself.

For organisations already certified, the practical message is calm. A three-year transition period applies, running to September 2029, and ISO 9001:2015 certificates remain valid throughout it. Most organisations will move to the new edition at a scheduled surveillance or recertification audit rather than through a separate exercise. For organisations certifying for the first time, the new edition is the one to build towards.

Who it is for

Organisations of every size and sector.

ISO 9001 applies to organisations of every size and sector, which is part of its strength. In practice, demand is strongest where customers require proof of consistent delivery before they commit.

IT and software companies use it to show enterprise and global clients that delivery is managed, repeatable and measured, not dependent on individual effort. Healthcare organisations use it to bring consistency to services where errors carry real consequences. Banking and financial services firms use it to evidence controlled, well-documented operations to clients and regulators. Manufacturers, engineering firms, construction companies and suppliers across Hyderabad and India use it because their customers, and many government tenders, simply ask for it.

If a contract, a tender or a client questionnaire asks whether you hold ISO 9001, certification is the recognised answer.

The certification process

A clear, staged audit, then a three-year cycle.

Certiva Global certifies ISO 9001 through a clear, staged audit. An optional pre-assessment can be carried out first to highlight areas to strengthen before the formal cycle begins.

01

Stage 1

Our auditor reviews your quality management system documentation and confirms it is ready for full assessment.

02

Stage 2

The main certification audit. Our auditor assesses how the system actually performs across your operations, talking to the people who run the processes and examining the records that show them working. If the evidence supports certification, the certificate is issued.

03

Surveillance & recertification

Certification then runs on a three-year cycle, maintained through annual surveillance audits, with recertification at the end of the cycle.

Independence gives your certificate its credibility.

Certiva Global is an independent international certification body based in Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad, serving organisations across India and worldwide, and operating in compliance with ISO/IEC 17021-1.

We assess and certify only

We do not design or run your quality system, and that independence is precisely what gives your certificate its credibility with the customers and tenders that ask for it.

One integrated audit

Because ISO 9001 shares its structure with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001, we can assess several standards together as one integrated audit, saving your team time and keeping your management system coherent.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

ISO 9001 certification is independent confirmation that your organisation operates a Quality Management System meeting ISO 9001, the international standard for quality management. A certification body audits the system and, if the evidence supports it, issues the certificate.

The current edition is ISO 9001:2026, the sixth edition, published on 16 September 2026. It replaces ISO 9001:2015 and builds on it rather than rewriting it, with a stronger focus on leadership, quality culture, ethical behaviour and climate change.

Yes. A three-year transition period applies, running to September 2029. ISO 9001:2015 certificates remain valid during the transition, and most organisations move to the 2026 edition at a scheduled surveillance or recertification audit.

The audit runs in two stages, Stage 1 and Stage 2. The overall time depends on the size of your organisation and how established your quality management system is when the audit begins.

Yes. The three standards share the same harmonised structure, so they can be assessed together as an integrated management system in one coordinated audit.

An ISO 9001 certificate is valid for three years, maintained through annual surveillance audits, with recertification at the end of the cycle.
